Scandic Hotels, the leading hotel company in the Nordic countries, has signed an agreement with Swedavia regarding the operation of a new hotel at Landvetter Airport in Gothenburg. The hotel will be Scandica��s ninth airport hotel in the Nordic Region and should be completed in 2020.
The hotel at Landvetter Airport is the second large project in Gothenburg announced by Scandic in 2017. When complete, the hotel will have seven floors and approximately 220 rooms, as well as a restaurant, bar, fitness area, and about ten conference rooms.
With its strategic location, it will be easily accessible for leisure and business travellers alike, as well as the 3,500 people who work in the airporta��s vicinity.
Landvetter Airport is also expanding and in the coming years, with improved logistics, new office buildings and retail outlets planned for the airport. The new Scandic hotel will play a central role as the area takes shape and the hotela��s public spaces become integrated with the future arrivals hall. Air traffic to and from Gothenburg is steadily increasing and plans for a new train line to the airport is expected to contribute to growth in the long term.
Construction will start in 2018, with the new hotel expected to open in 2020.
