At the end of 2018, both the Lithuanian Hotel and Restaurant Association, and the country’s Tourism Association rewarded Hotel Romantic in Panevėžys, Lithuania for its work in promoting eco-tourism and for implementing a number of sustainable standards, including the use of Green Energy, becoming the first hotel in Lithuania to get an EV charging station, using only ecological amenities in its hotel rooms and cosmetics in its spa, and for signing contracts with eco-farms to supply beef and chicken in order to make its restaurant menu as ecological as possible. Moreover, the hotel does not use any small packaging and has bicycles for guests to use free of charge. Romantic sees 2019 as an opportunity to come up with and implement a number of other great new sustainable ideas.
Located in the heart of Panevėžys (100 km and 130 km from Kaunas and Vilnius respectively) in a building that was once the first mechanical flour mill in the Baltics, the hotel is surrounded by nature and is situated halfway between Vilnius and Riga, making it a perfect place to spend the night on the journey between the two capitals. The pet-friendly hotel was also recognised in 2018 as the best service-providing company in its region, and has been recognised in the past for its Etno-Spa, which offers an array of treatments based on ancient Baltic healing methods.
With 72 cosy rooms and suites – some of which feature French balconies and panoramic views – as well as four different conference halls that can accommodate between 12 to 200 delegates, the hotel stands as an option for business travellers looking to get away from the urban bustle and relax in a serene setting.
